Manager of Compliance (15301) - Hybrid/Remote Opportunity
635445 - Online Services & Ed Outreach

 

The Department of Online Services and Educational Outreach is accepting applications for the position of Manager of Compliance. The successful candidate will maintain compliance with both existing and emerging state, federal and international authorization mandates for higher education. Emerging regulations and best practices require that this position is needed to investigate, communicate and comply with regulations for professional licensure requirements for new and existing programs. The duties require the candidate to research existing legislation and examine university practices to ensure compliance. The individual will stay up to date with regard to proposed and emerging legislation to recommend and execute necessary policy and procedural changes to ensure federal and state compliance. Furthermore, this position will also compile and submit required reporting to internal offices and appropriate external legislative and/or compliance bodies or organizations. Additionally, the chosen candidate will review new and existing distance programs to ensure university policy and standards are consistent with federal and state mandates. This position provides broad oversight with regard to compliance, consumer protection and the ability to create a climate of open collaboration to best serve the students of SIUE. This position will have budget responsibilities to oversee compliance costs, professional development and associated travel. The chosen candidate should be able to work independently with regard to interpreting existing and emerging compliance rules but function as a highly collaborative and trusted team member creating buy- in and a culture of open communication and collaboration across the University. Further duties will be assigned based on the needs of the department.

-Master's Degree in Business, Higher Education, Legal Studies or related field
-Four years of related experience in areas such as academic administration, compliance, auditing, legal research or regulatory affairs. Additional experience may be used to offset educational requirements
-Ability to interpret higher education laws pertaining to NC-SARA, state authorization, higher education law or consumer protection
-Understanding of professional licensure requirements and ability to convey complex technical and legal information effectively to a variety of stakeholders
-Ability to read, understand and analyze professional licensing board requirements for all SIUE programs in every state
-Exceptional organizational and program management skills
-Effective analytical and data collection skills exceptional attention to detail
-Highly effective written and oral communication skills
-Familiarity with online accessibility/compliance regulations and best practices
-Ability to work independently with limited direction Experience with international student engagement
-Experience with international student engagement

 

5+ years of experience working with State Licensure Boards and/or Professional Boards

Familiarity with writing website content and experience maintaining or updating websites

$60,672.17 annually
