Illinois Residency Requirement: This position requires Illinois residency within 180 calendar days of the start date.

The Morris University Center (MUC) at SIUE is seeking qualified candidates to fill a Resource and Relationship Coordinator position. The selected candidate will be responsible for some day-to-day building management and guest-facing operations such as the Welcome Desk.

Duties for the Coordinator will include:

- Supervise the day-to-day management of the MUC Welcome Desk; this includes hiring, training, and scheduling student workers to manage the lost and found, event ticket sales, information delivery, and customer service.

- Coordinate full-time and student-related staff hiring, onboarding, training, and evaluation for employees within the MUC and Textbook Services. Serve on search committees, chair searches as needed, and prepare recommendations to the Hiring Manager. Complete reference checks. Conduct exit interviews.

- Provide assistance with evening event setup and customer service concerns. Trouble shoot problems. Provide direction as needed to building staff to ensure a smooth flow of building operations outside of business hours. Troubleshoot tech issues.

- Lead ongoing staff development and the implementation of assessment programs and program reviews for all MUC units that support the goals of the university, division, and department strategic plans. Collect and analyze data and provide recommendations.

-Serve as MUC representative on University and Student Affairs Division Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee in addition to other designated building, Student Affairs, and campus-wide committees.

-Plan and coordinate the foundation fundraising and development efforts of the MUC.

-Contribute to the development of policies and procedures relevant to the effective operation and management of the MUC.

-Serve as a member of Event Services on-call duty rotation evenings and weekends.

Bachelor's degree in human resources management, business or public administration, marketing, student personnel or related field

Two (2) years of professional business, financial, and/or managerial work experience. (NOTE: A Master’s Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year (12 months) of work experience.)

Experience in planning and management.

Proven organizational and leadership skills. Commitment to customer service.

Excellent communication and team building skills.

Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise personnel and provide guidance to professional and support staff.

Must be available for variable hours, extended workdays, weekends, and on-call emergencies.

Program assessment experience and knowledge and programming experience in diversity, equity, and inclusion.

 

1. One (1) year of college union/student center experience and one (1) year of supervisory experience preferred.
