SIUE Dining Services is seeking experienced candidates with great initiative, leadership ability, and excellent customer service skills to fill current supervisory roles. The department is currently accepting applications for a full-time Area Supervisor position located in Center Court at the Morris University Center on the Edwardsville campus.  Under the general supervision from a Food Service Administrator, the Area Supervisor will perform line supervisory duties for their specified station or kiosk. Daily duties may include:
-Motivate and guide the work activities of student and Civil Service employees assigned to the area.
-Supervise and assist in food preparation to ensure that food delivery meets the appropriate standards.
-Oversee daily area prep and clean up, assisting as needed.
-Promote good customer service within the assigned unit area.
-Supervise and assist in routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment, tools, and materials.
-Create requisitions for unit food and supplies as needed.

The Supervisor will also assist in preparation of area work schedules and assist in the training of new employees (both student workers and full-time staff). As part of the department’s supervisory staff, this position works closely with both our student population, community members and University staff, and is expected to provide professional and courteous customer service to all guests. Applicants must be able to work successfully with diverse populations. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned in support of the department’s mission and goals. 

The hours for this vacancy are:
Tuesday – Friday, 12:00 Noon – 8:00 p.m.
Saturday, 9:30 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Sunday and Monday off

Applicants must be able to work shifts as listed.  Food service positions may include layoff over academic breaks (winter holiday and spring break) and summer term.
