SIUE is seeking skilled and dynamic candidates to fill multiple vacancies in the new Student Success Coach role with the Office of Educational Outreach (OEO) and the Office of Academic Advising (OAA).  The Student Success Coaches will identify and be highly engaged with student populations including but not limited to at-risk, admitted but not enrolled, probationary or warning status, readmitted and reinstated students participating in on-ground or online programs. The selected candidates will work virtually or face-to-face with students in a way that is compassionate and resourceful, while supporting them with tools that will foster academic and personal success.   

Serving as the primary mentor and consultant, the Student Success Coaches will monitor all aspects of the students’ educational development, career planning, and personal growth.  Utilizing LMS, the Coaches will provide a highly customized, detailed, and confidential level of tracking and performance monitoring for students needing additional academic and personal support. These positions will design and implement tools, events, and other resources to support the needs of students across these various populations and encourage continued engagement and retention.  The Success Coaches will also assist students with realizing their goals and educational paths as well as ensure that students are provided information and accessibility to university resources and programs (e.g., admissions requirements, international programs, study abroad, or veteran’s programs) that will assist them in being successful during their college education/experience. 

Further duties and responsibilities may be assigned in support of the department’s mission and goals.

-One (1) year or more of experience developing and identifying support resources to encourage student engagement, retention, and persistence  
-One (1) or more years' of experience providing support in a virtual capacity
-One (1) or more years' of experience developing support programs and resources that are transferable to a virtual environment
-One (1) or more years' of experience using various contact methods including chat or text
-Strong organization, tracking, data collection, time management and follow up skills
-Exceptional and engaging communication skills using multiple modalities
-Ability to build relationships, work independently and provide good judgment
-Ability to take initiative, pay careful attention to details and maintain confidentiality
-Ability to prioritize and rapidly engage with students

Non-Exempt
$2,810.50 Monthly, excellent benefits package.
SIU Edwardsville Main Campus
Monday - Friday with weekend hours as needed.
37.5 hours total with varied hours in an "on call" basis
